The Maples cottage has electric heat and a woodstove with a glass door for comforting flame viewing making your Winter stay cozy and comfortable. The Maples cottage is like a home away from home, with good year round access. With carpet and vinyl flooring throughout for easy upkeep, this naturally bright cottage has a somewhat rustic appeal to it as we have retained some of it’s original log and chinking in our updating and renovating, yet keeping it modern and clean at the same time with the hopes it will suit the growing popularity of cottage vacationers. It is well maintained and stocked with all the comforts of home. A family of six will be very comfortable as the living area is very spacious with quality furnishings.
The two bedrooms which sleep 4 comfortably are set to the back of the cottage, away from any family noise in the evenings. A double sofa bed sectional couch in the living room is suitable for older siblings or guests. A four piece bathroom and laundry area provides families with young children the opportunity to stay for an extended period of time. The large eat-in kitchen/dining room area is fully equipped with fridge, stove with oven and microwave and all small appliances as are cleansers and a vacuum cleaner for quick clean ups. The living room has abundant seating and is centered around the woodstove which throws off a delicious heat enticing one to cuddle up for a relaxing and warm weekend away during the Winter months. A 19" flat screened TV with Satellite service, DVD/Blu-Ray player and telephone are included. . Our cottages are all smoke free and pet free.
With "drive to the door" access, The Maples cottage boasts a large, furnished, carpeted screened porch off the dining room offering extra bug free living and play space. Relax in the evening with a good book and listen to the call of the loons. Horseshoe pits (horseshoes included) which double as sandboxes (sand toys included) and a large grassed yard provide family fun. The picnic table and complimentary propane BBQ on the patio area, together with 4 Muskoka chairs, make for enjoyable outdoor meals. The lake is accessed by approximately a 2 minute walk down a gentle trail through the trees, and then down a wooden staircase to the lake. The view of Palmerston Lake is minimal during the Summer season due to heavy foliage on mature trees on the property", hence the absolute privacy
You will enjoy sitting on your own private dock with a storage shed for your personal waterfront needs. There is plenty of docking space for your own boat; the public boat launch is just a short distance away. Four patio chairs and small table remain at the dock for your convenience. The fairly shallow swimming area to one side of the dock has a gradual slope and no weeds, the lake bottom being a mix of sand and smaller rocks. Children will enjoy rock bass fishing off the end of the dock. Complimentary canoe and pedal boat with life jackets and boating safety kit is included.
Located in District 1 of the OFSC snowmobile trail system and just minutes from the cottage are groomed OFSC snowmobile and EOTA ATV trails. ATV's/snowmobiles are needed in the Winter to access an unlimited number of crown land lakes for ice fishing such as The Quinns, Granite, Mair, Redhorse, Minnow, Mosque, Summit, Wolfe etc. Palmerston Lake is a very deep, clean, clear spring-fed lake and is open for Bass and Lake Trout fishing from May-November only.
