Designed with affordability in mind, this intimate and cozy, compact yet well equipped, self contained waterfront cabin has just about everything you will need for a weekend away from city life. Located towards the east end of Palmerston Lake, in a small bay-like setting, it is perfect for a couple who enjoys the out of doors and just need a place to lay their heads down at night. Being a bachelor/motel style/ efficiency unit, the couch serves as your double sofa bed for sleeping at night.

A well stocked kitchenette including a large toaster oven, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, fridge, sink with H/C water, all dishes and cutlery, pots and pans, toaster, kettle, tea pot etc. makes meal preparation convenient.

A 3 piece bathroom with a modern shower stall plumbed with clean lake water, a closet, lunch counter with chairs, a TV with Satellite service and a DVD/VCR combo player are all included for your convenience. All blankets and pillows are provided; please bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels. All windows and doors are screened offering a breeze from the lake. The guesthouse is heated with electric heat throughout. An intimate front yard with picnic table bordering the lake, a sundeck atop a boathouse and an adequately sized screened porch provides comfort and coziness after a fun filled day in this still relatively quiet area in The Land O'Lakes.

Cottage Rental Facilities

Area facilities include convenience Marina/store in Ompah with boat rentals, movie rentals, gas, bait, licenses etc. The next village of Plevna has a restaurant and grocery store, also LCBO. Many golf courses located within one hour, skiing at Calabogie approx. one hour. Close to all groomed snowmobile and ATV trails, drive to the door access from the lake via snowmobile or ATV in the Winter months .

Many other lovely lakes in the area on crown land with public access, good fishing and boating. Palmerston Lake is a 5 km long spring fed, crystal clean, clear lake.

Rates and Availability

Year round availability. Weekly rentals only during July and August, shorter stays available during low season months. $450.00 weekly during high season, $150.00 for 2 nights during low season. Suitable for 1-2 persons only.

Notes

Located in District 1 of the OFSC snowmobile trail system and just minutes from the cottage are groomed OFSC snowmobile and EOTA ATV trails. ATV's/snowmobiles are needed in the Winter to access an unlimited number of crown land lakes for ice fishing such as The Quinns, Granite, Mair, Redhorse, Minnow, Mosque, Summit, Wolfe etc. Palmerston Lake is open for Bass and Lake Trout fishing from May-November only.

Your hosts reside year round on 150 ft. of waterfront property on Palmerston Lake, and share their piece of paradise with the guests of The Guesthouse and The Pioneer cottages.We are always available for assistance and offer our guests the use of our home telephone as there is no cell phone service in this area; although a hike to the top of the “Lookout”offers some reception and a breathtaking panoramic view of both Palmerston Lake and Canonto Lake.

Parking is provided above lake level behind the cottages, with access to the Guesthouse via a common stairwell, or by water. The boat launch is a short distance away. We are proud to offer smoke/pet free accommodations. This is just a taste of what outdoor country life in The Land O' Lakes is all about.

Situated on the east end of Palmerston Lake, near the OCA Fish Hatchery and minutes to the village of Ompah (formerly known for The Stomp on Labour Day weekend).

Approximately 1.45 hours west of Ottawa, 1.5 hours north of Kingston, 3.5 hours east of Toronto. 35 minutes north of highway #7 at Sharbot Lake, 40 minutes west of Lanark. Directions provided at time of reservation.
